An Overview of Control Panel for Complete Computer Settings and Securities

Hi Friends! Happy Sunday to all of you. First of all I would like to sorry to be late for posting my new article. By the way what I am going to share today that is really as important as basic knowledge for using your computers. Whether you are advanced or beginner level of computer users, you should have the knowledge of complete computer settings and securities under the Control Panel and its categories. But it is will be not possible for me to tell and for you to read about the whole aspects of computer settings and securities in single post, so it would be better to complete it in step by step. That is why today, as the first step, I am providing An Overview of Control Panel for Complete Computer Settings and Securities that is most important to know for computer users.


Introduction of Control Panel

Microsoft Windows OS provided us a set of computer settings and securities items or options with each and every version of Windows OS like Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and more. This set of computer settings is known as Control
Panel.

According to www.wikipedia.com “Control Panel is the part of the Microsoft Windows Graphical User Interface which allows user to view and control basic system settings and controls via applets, such as adding hardware, adding and removing software, controlling user account settings and changing accessibility options.”

Now as you know that the control panel is the set of computer settings and securities options (according to All Control Panel Items, these are 49 items in count, but every items has its own option lists also) that are many in numbers, so, for the users’ convenience these options have been distributed into Eight (08) different categories. See below:

1)      System and Security,

2)      User Accounts and Family Safety,

3)      Network and Internet,

4)      Appearance and Personalization,

6)      Clock, Language, and Region,

7)      Programs, and

8)      Ease of Access.

You may also see “All Control Panel Items in the Control Panel window by selecting “Large icons” in the View by section on the right top of the Control Panel window.

How to open Control Panel Window

There are many versions of Microsoft Windows OS like Windows 8.1, 8, 7, XP, and many older versions. So see below the steps to open control panel window according to Windows OS you have in your computer.

In Microsoft Windows 8, 8.1:

Press “Windows + C” key together >> Type “Control Panel” in the search box >> Then select the Control Panel. 
Now you will be in the control Panel Window of your computer.

In Microsoft Windows 7:

Click on the Start Icon >> Select the Control Panel
Now you are in the Control Panel Window of your computer.

In Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, XP:

Click on the Start Icon >> Select Settings >> then select the Control Panel.
Now you will be transferred to the Control Panel Window.
